To start, we're going to assume you've heard of the Chat GPT-4s integration into Bing. While there originally was a waitlist to gain access, the latest we've seen is that you can receive access right away through this link.
While there are infinite ways to put this tool to work for you, here we wanted to share some ideas on how to leverage ChatGPT AI within your lifecycle marketing email mailings.
Whether it's choosing subject lines, brainstorming content ideas, or editing HTML, this is quite a helpful tool. Let's get into it.
1. Choosing subject lines
First off, let's get this out of the way. The mantra to email marketing is "test and learn". Ideally, you've tested your way into understanding which types of subject lines do best for which audiences, whether being extremely scientific, or just anecdotal.
However, sometimes that's just not where you're at.
If you don't have a marketing partner to bounce your thoughts on subject line thoughts off of - let's Bing Chat, be your pal.
For example, when you have two options your kicking around, run them through Bing Chat!
Below we compare "Select running shoes now 50% off!" vs. "You're going to freak when you see this!" by asking - "Which subject line will generate a higher open rate?" and listing each subject line.

In my opinion here the main difference between these is a direct message vs. a more interesting, but abstract one, however, Bing Chat fails to identify this, instead it compares them by character length and provides a recommendation based on that.
So, not all encompassing, but something to think about as you make your decision that you may not have been considering!
2. Choosing & prioritizing content
Working in lifecycle marketing we're often promoting one thing or another, and while generally we align with the greater marketing, product, or business strategy, sometimes we are setting the direction.
Taking our own blog for example, maybe we want to brainstorm some ideas on what types of promotional emails to send to drive more blog views. Or, we could even ask Bing Chat to help us brainstorm what types of blog posts could be helpful to our users in the Lifecycle and Email Marketing space.
Let's take see what Bing thinks:

Not bad, and while kind of broad, we can always keep prompting the Chat to get more specific on different topics. Either way, this is a great high level place to start as we think about content themes for different marketing material.
3. Editing your HTML
This is by far one of the coolest uses of Bing Chat relating to email and lifecycle marketing. As we described in our blog article Using Bing Chat to edit HTML email templates, the tool is really handy.
For example, say you just downloaded one of our free HTML email templates and you want to adjust a section from centered to left aligned, you could literally, copy that block of HTML code, paste it into Bing Chat, and ask Bing to give you back the updated code with your section left aligned. While it's not perfect, and sometimes you may have to ask your prompt in different ways. It is possible to edit almost any layout adjustment by work with Chat GPT through Bing Chat.
Plus, if you use small amounts of HTML, Bing Chat will actually deliver back the edited HTML for you to plug back into your editor and inspect.
